.
As part of the learning process of being at the Kent Foundation I have been getting involved in the various events that the Kent Foundation visit.
Today I visited Ladies that Latte, a monthly event where all those ladies with initative and a independent business can come together, network and create new partnerships.
For a hour at the start of the event a few businesses can get up and present who they are, what they do and how they got there. I only got there half way through this session but I found it very interesting, especially the lady with a corset business who ended up designing corsets for cross dressers!
With a business of my own I found it a good chance to connect with others to get the word out there about what I do and possibly get some more business in the future. I took around 40 leaflets describing the site and left pretty much empty handed which isn't too bad going!
As the event was held in the cafe at the Kent Innovation Centre the room had a great atmosphere and it didn't feel arkward like it does at some events.
So if you're a woman with a business and you want to get involved email kent.foundation@kent.gov.uk so we can send you more details!
Look forward to hearing from you, Kathy
